Another good thing about term deposits is that the interest rate is not variable like it is on other types of savings accounts. So if the interest rates fall, your term deposit rate won’t - until maturity, anyway. There are also many different time frames for term deposits. You can choose one as short as 7 days or up to three years or more. So if you have a large amount of money for something like buying a home, you can actually put it in a short term deposit while you are waiting for the transaction to go through, making your money work for you better and harder, which is what investing is all about, after all.
